Thursday 08-01-2026
Walid Regragui, the coach of the Moroccan national team, confirmed that his team faced clear difficulties during the first half of the match, noting that the performance was not up to the desired level, before the situation improved after the break.

In his statements after the match, Regragui said that the team did not start the game in the right way and made some individual mistakes. He added that the absence of player Ezzedine Ounahi had a clear impact on the performance during the first half.

The coach of the "Atlas Lions" explained that the technical staff and players handled the situation better in the second half, as the team entered with a different mindset, which helped correct mistakes and ultimately secure the victory.

Regragui emphasized that the focus will be entirely on the upcoming match, affirming that the next phase will be more challenging and will require a great deal of caution and thorough preparation.

He added that the Moroccan team will continue to focus on itself regardless of the identity of the opponent in the next round, pointing out that the goal is to prepare well in order to achieve victory and continue the journey towards the semifinals, given the difficulty of the upcoming challenges.
