Al-Shorta Club management continues to work to correct matters within the club, especially as the team is going through a critical and dangerous turning point, represented by the decline in its results locally and in Asia.

Al-Shorta team was unable to achieve any victory in the last four matches it played, while conceding 12 goals after facing Saudi Al-Hilal and Saudi Al-Ahli, in addition to the Iraqi teams Al-Talaba and Amanat Baghdad.

Special sources said: "Al-Shorta Club management is seriously considering the demands of the Egyptian coach Moamen Suleiman, especially since the team has recently suffered from a results crisis. The main demands of the coach include providing a decent and stable training ground, as the team was conducting its training sessions on several stadiums of Baghdad capital clubs."

They added: "The management, after continuous correspondence with the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, obtained official approval to take over Al-Qafas Stadium, which is the private stadium of Al-Shorta Club. The team held its first training session on the stadium yesterday and will continue to hold training sessions there from now on. Thus, the first of the complex and difficult problems has been solved."

They explained: "The dual problem for the coach is related to the number of players available to play, as the Egyptian Moamen Suleiman confirmed that the team’s roster consists of only 15 players, while he pointed to his urgent need for 5 more players. Therefore, the management has actually started making signings, having contracted with Abbas Fadel, a player from the Iraqi Olympic national team and Naft Maysan."

They continued: "Movements are ongoing by Al-Shorta Club management, which is seriously seeking to sign the Kuwaiti national team player Sultan Al-Anzi, to be the team's second signing in the winter transfer period. The management is awaiting the player's response to finalize matters or to move towards other available options, through which the team seeks to reorganize its ranks."

They added: "The management, alongside the search for new players, is working intensively to retain the team's key elements, foremost among them the Syrian Mahmoud Al-Mawas, who received an official offer from Qatar Stars League. The management is also awaiting the return of injured players to the fields again, such as Amir Sabah, Bassam Shaker, and others, so the team can overcome its crisis."
