Guardiola: I Have a Contract with Manchester City, and This Is the Team's Condition
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola appeared at a press conference to talk about Sunday's match against Chelsea in the twentieth round of the English Premier League at the Etihad Stadium.
The coach said about the team's condition: "We have to wait, there isn't enough time between matches. Rodri has returned, but he and Jeremy Doku are coming back from long injuries, so we have to be cautious. We will talk to the doctors and specialists. We will miss Savinho, but the more difficulties we face, the stronger we become."
Regarding his future: "Oh my God! I have a contract with the club. I've said that a thousand times, I know you are tired of me. I have been here for ten years and I promise you that I will leave one day, but I am happy and want to fight with my team. The management respects me, and they proved that last season when we didn't win any match for three months and they supported me."
He continued about Enzo Maresca's departure from Chelsea: "All I can say from my point of view is that Chelsea lost an amazing manager and a wonderful personality. The decision was made by Chelsea's management, and I have nothing to say about that. I am very lucky to be at my club; the club is exceptional."
Regarding Maresca's link to managing Manchester City: "I have no idea. I am sure you have more information than I do. How can I update you on an opinion that is just a rumor? I will not answer that."
He added about his future: "Do you want to fire me? My salary is very high, and I have one more year on my contract."
He concluded: "Losing two points against Fulham? We gained a point. We are in the title race; the season is still long, it is a very long road."
