Police Club is going through a difficult phase this season after a series of negative results that have cast a shadow over the team's journey locally and continentally, raising concerns among its fans who were used to seeing their team at the forefront of the competition.

Recently, the team suffered four consecutive losses, including two defeats in the AFC Champions League Elite against Saudi Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli. These two losses were heavy results, in addition to a loss against Al-Talaba by a single goal, and finally against Amanat Baghdad 2-1.

The most prominent factor in Police Club's declining results is the modest performance of the players on the field. Observers believe that a large number of team members do not give their all for the badge and do not show the fighting spirit that the Green Harp fans were accustomed to in previous seasons.

It is clear that the motivation has decreased among some players, which has reflected on the collective performance, especially in crucial matches that require a strong character on the green pitch.

The second reason is the heavy match schedule the team has faced recently, both in the Iraqi Stars League and continental competitions, which has caused obvious fatigue among the players.

This pressure led to repeated injuries affecting several key players, as happened in the recent match against Amanat Baghdad, directly impacting the stability of the team lineup and the players’ physical condition, making the team unable to maintain a high tempo throughout the match minutes.

Thirdly, the management also bears a large part of the responsibility, especially after letting go of several team stars in previous seasons, foremost among them Muhannad Ali “Mimi” and defender Akam Hashim, without compensating with names capable of making a difference.

Moreover, the signings made at the beginning of the season did not meet the ambitions and did not add the required quality to the team, which negatively affected the squad depth, especially with the pressure of local and international matches.
