Sports journalist Ahmed Shobeir revealed Mahmoud El Khatib, president of Al Ahly Club's stance on signing Mahmoud Bentayk, a Zamalek player, after the latter terminated his contract with the White Club.

Shobeir said in a radio statement: "Al Ahly had indeed considered signing Mahmoud Bentayak before, but the priority was to acquire Youssef Belamri, the Raja Casablanca player."

Shobeir added that Al-Khatib now rejects the idea of bringing in players from Zamalek, saying: "The captain's approach is that it's enough now, and we should look for players from elsewhere."

A recent crisis has erupted between Mahmoud Bentayek and Zamalek due to the player not receiving his overdue payments for more than nine months.

The player's chances of continuing with Zamalek have become highly uncertain due to this crisis.
