Hugo Broos: We Know Egyptian Players Well but We Are Confident in Ourselves
Hugo Broos, the head coach of the South African national team, praised the Egyptian national team players ahead of the highly anticipated match between the two teams tomorrow, Friday.
Hugo Broos said at the pre-match press conference: "The Egyptian team is strong and has won the title 7 times, holding the record."
He added: "We know the players of the Egyptian national team well, such as Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush, but we are confident in ourselves and look forward to winning the match."
Hugo Broos spoke about the memory of winning the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations title against Egypt, saying: "It's good to face a team you've beaten before. It's a pleasant memory for me, nothing more, but years have passed, and the Egyptian national team has completely changed now."
Regarding the first victory in the Africa Cup of Nations against Angola, Broos responded: "Winning our first match was important because entering the game against Egypt without any points would have put us under immense pressure. That doesn't mean we don't want to win against Egypt."
He concluded by saying: "If the Egyptian team wins the match on Friday, they will advance to the next round, and the same applies to us. Therefore, it is a very important match for both teams."
