Indrik Before His Departure: My Story with Real Madrid Is Not Over Yet
Wednesday 24-12-2025
Since Indrik's arrival at Real Madrid, his days have turned into a continuous learning journey for a young man who has just turned eighteen. This doesn't mean that everything he went through was positive in the present. It will never be known whether the experiences he lived through in the past six months will become lessons for the future, but the reality is that the young and bold striker faced harsh situations, some of which were incomprehensible to him.

The first setback he faced was the injury he sustained in the final stage of last season, but the more difficult one was his relapse in the United States during a training session on the second-to-last day of the Club World Cup stay. This meant starting the season in a condition worse than his teammates, in addition to closing the doors to any transfer or loan options, like the deal that took place with Lyon in the final hours.

The worst of all was when he saw, match after match, that not only was he excluded from Xabi Alonso's plans, but he wasn't even asked to warm up on the sidelines. His only task was to watch his teammates play. He couldn't find an explanation for what was happening to him, yet he told everyone when he left that he would return and succeed in Madrid, and that the story was not over yet.

The first week of December marked a turning point. It was said that Indrik wanted to play to qualify for the World Cup, but what he truly wanted was to be useful to his team, Real Madrid. However, he felt this opportunity was being taken away from him, and he was fully convinced that if he had gotten playing time, the story would have been completely different.

Isolation on the bench and lack of playing time eventually pushed him to accept Lyon's offer, in search of what he hadn't found with Xabi Alonso: trust, in the form of minutes on the field. What he—and many within Real Madrid—did not realize was that when everything seemed settled, the coach suddenly remembered the Brazilian player, whose appearances confirmed that his football talent had never faded.
