Saudi Offer Tempts Balotelli After Leaving Genoa
Mario Balotelli, the former Genoa striker, is waiting for a new opportunity to play in the Italian league, despite receiving an official offer from the Saudi club Al-Ettifaq extending until 2028.
Balotelli left Genoa on June 30th of last year on a free transfer, after his contract, which lasted only eight months, ended, making him available to sign with any other club in the winter.
The 35-year-old player participated in 6 matches with Genoa, totaling only 56 minutes, and received two yellow cards before the French coach was dismissed and replaced by Daniele De Rossi.
Balotelli expressed his anger about the situation in an Instagram post, writing: "God sees and provides," conveying his dissatisfaction with the lack of playing time in the Italian team.
The Italian is currently training with the Carpenedolo team, led by Moroccan coach Abderrazak Jadid, competing in Group 3 of the Lombardy Excellence Championship, preparing for any new opportunity.
It is worth mentioning that last summer, Balotelli rejected an offer from Vado, a club competing in Italy's fourth division where his younger brother Enock Barwuah plays, preferring to wait for a bigger opportunity.
The Saudi offer presents the player with the option to return to major competitions, a move that could bring the Italian striker back into the spotlight after a period of absence from active participation.
