Al-Ittihad Club of Saudi Arabia is close to finalizing a deal to sign Portuguese left-back Nuno Tavares from the Italian team Lazio during the upcoming winter transfer window, as part of their efforts to strengthen the squad ahead of the remainder of the season.

According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira on his X account, Al-Ittihad Club is close to reaching a final agreement with Lazio to sign Nuno Tavares, following significant progress in the negotiations over the past few hours.

Schira pointed out that there is a preliminary agreement between the club and the Portuguese player to sign a contract extending until June 2029, a move that reflects the club's confidence in the player's abilities and its desire to strengthen the left-back position with a distinguished player.

Nuno Tavares is 25 years old and joined Lazio in the summer of 2024, coming from English club Arsenal, before his contract was made permanent.

Tavares participated with the Italian team in 40 matches across various competitions, during which he provided 10 assists, making him a prominent target for the federation during the winter transfer window.
