Danish coach Jess Thorup of Al Ahly spoke about the 2-1 loss his team suffered against Ghazl El Mahalla on Tuesday evening in the third round of the group stage of the Egypt Capital Cup.

Yis Torop said in his statements during the press conference after today's match: "Matches like these are an opportunity for young and emerging players, as they need to understand what they lack in order to take a step up to the first team."

The Danish coach added: "I saw a good performance from Al-Ahly's young players in today's match, and I also thank the fans for greeting the players before the game and for their support."

He continued: "I always say that the goal of playing football is to win, but this tournament is an opportunity to involve young players in the first team's training and matches."

Yees Torop concluded his statements by saying: "I see that the young players at Al Ahly have adapted to our plan, and this gave me the feeling that the players have what they can contribute to the first team."
