Al Ahly Tightens Conditions for Hamza Abdel Karim's Transfer to Barcelona
The Spanish newspaper 'Sport' revealed developments in the transfer deal of the young Egyptian striker Hamza Abdel Karim to FC Barcelona, noting that Al Ahly club has tightened its financial conditions in recent hours, which may affect the completion of the deal.
According to the newspaper, Al Ahly agreed to loan the player until June but requires a purchase option worth eight million euros, including two million fixed and six million as variables based on the player's performance. Meanwhile, Barcelona initially preferred not to pay more than four million euros as a purchase option, considering that the player has not yet started his professional career, but there is room to reach an agreement thanks to the good relations between the two clubs.
The newspaper clarified that Al Ahly also desires to obtain 20% of the player's future sale value, while Barcelona is willing to concede only 10%, a condition that is non-negotiable for the Catalan club.
The report indicated that Hamza Abdel Karim, who shined at the Under-17 World Cup, is pushing to transfer to Barcelona, especially with his 18th birthday approaching in January. The Catalan club wants to sign him immediately to strengthen Barcelona Atlètic’s squad, and if the deal succeeds, the player will participate in the preseason with the first team next summer.
