Swedish striker Victor Gioquiers led Arsenal to a hard-fought victory at Hill Dickinson Stadium, where the team defeated Everton 1-0 in the 17th round of the English Premier League, maintaining their lead in the championship before Christmas.

In post-match comments, Gioquiers said: "It feels good of course, it was a tough away win, but we got the three points and it was great to score a goal."

He continued: "We talked a little on the pitch, then I took the penalty kick, honestly, a few months ago I scored a penalty, and it was nice to do it again."

Gioquiers added regarding missed chances after the break: "It was a tough match, and it would have been better if we had scored a few more goals, that would have given us control. When the win is only 1-0, the situation becomes stressful sometimes."

He went on: "Of course, we wanted to capitalize on the opportunities we had, but the most important thing is that we won in the end."

He concluded by emphasizing the need to stay focused despite leading, saying: "It always feels good to win matches and be at the top, but that doesn’t mean much because the road is long and there are still many matches. I will enjoy it a little, but not too much."
