Inter took the lead through Marcus Thuram in the 2nd minute, while Bologna equalized through Riccardo Orsolini from a penalty kick in the 35th minute.
The two teams went straight to penalties, which favored Bologna with a 3-2 score.
Bologna will face Napoli in the Italian Super Cup final next Monday, December 22.
