Inter Milan Close to Signing Ivan Provedel

Inter Milan is nearing the completion of a deal for Italian goalkeeper Ivan Provedel from Lazio, following his medical examination, with an official announcement expected in the coming hours.

According to "Football Italia", Provedel underwent medical tests today, Wednesday, marking the final step before signing his contract with Inter, after reaching an agreement with Lazio for a transfer fee of €3 million.

The move for the 32-year-old goalkeeper comes after Jan Sommer's departure when his contract expired on June 30, as the club sought a replacement to bolster the goalkeeping position ahead of the new season.

The same source added that Inter abandoned the idea of signing Empoli's goalkeeper Vicario after estimates suggested the deal could exceed €20 million, opting instead for the more cost-effective option of Provedel.

Inter is expected to rely on Josep Martínez as the starting goalkeeper for the upcoming season, while Provedel will join to strengthen this position with a contract lasting three years following the completion of his medical tests.
