Jamal Al-Salami, the head coach of the Jordanian national football team, affirmed that he has a clear football project with the team, emphasizing his determination to continue in his position until the completion of this project before making any decision to leave.

Al-Salami's statements came during the press conference following the final match of the 2025 Arab Cup, in which the Jordanian national team settled for second place after losing to the Moroccan team by a score of three goals to two, following extra time.

The coach of the "Nashama" revealed that the Crown Prince of Jordan informed him that King Abdullah II will grant him Jordanian citizenship, expressing his great pride in this step, which reflects the level of trust and support he receives.

Al-Salami praised the performance his players delivered throughout the tournament, emphasizing that goalkeeper Yazid Abu Layla was one of the team's key players and contributed significantly to reaching the final match. He stressed that Abu Layla is a true leader and cannot be held responsible for any mistakes.

He added that the national team players delivered performances that exceeded expectations, considering the team's display a source of pride, especially given the challenges and significant absences they faced during the tournament.

Regarding the upcoming phase, Al-Salami explained that his focus will be on preparing the under-23 national team in anticipation of the upcoming continental competitions, foremost among them the Asian Cup. He also pointed out the availability of promising players capable of development.

In the same context, he emphasized that talking about participating in the World Cup is premature, despite the great ambition that characterizes the Jordanian sports community, noting that the national team will continue to work with carefully planned steps.

It is worth mentioning that the Jordanian national team will receive a cash prize of approximately four million dollars for finishing as the runner-up in the 2025 Arab Cup.
