Does Al Ahly oppose Hamza Abdel Karim's transfer to Barcelona?
Tuesday 16-12-2025
The Spanish newspaper "Sport" revealed that the Egyptian club Al Ahly does not object to the transfer of the young striker Hamza Abdel Karim to FC Barcelona, provided that a key condition is met: receiving future compensation for the deal, amid ongoing negotiations between the two parties.

The newspaper mentioned that Al-Ahli is willing to negotiate the player's departure but insists on receiving fair compensation for a talent they consider a future prospect, especially as Abdul Karim is approaching his 18th birthday before January 1st.

According to the Spanish newspaper, the main disagreement lies in the terms proposed by Barcelona. The Catalan club prefers a deal without a fixed fee, involving a loan with incentives and clauses such as a percentage of any future resale. This approach does not align with Al Ahly's position, as they want a specific purchase option in June, in addition to a loan fee, even if it is non-monetary.

The newspaper explained that Hamza Abdel Karim is considered the top candidate to strengthen Barcelona Atlètic's attacking line starting in January, following his outstanding performance in the Under-17 World Cup held in Qatar. Barcelona has already obtained the player's approval, as he has expressed his desire to transfer during the winter transfer window.

The report confirmed that negotiations are still ongoing and remain contingent on presenting an offer that includes a clear financial compensation, while Barcelona seeks to finalize the deal before other clubs enter the negotiation process.
