Palmer: I Have Not Yet Returned to My Best Levels, and I Deal with the Injury Day by Day
Chelsea star Cole Palmer spoke after his team's 2-0 victory over Everton at Stamford Bridge in the sixteenth round of the English Premier League about his return after a long absence due to injury and about the goal he scored in the match.
Palmer said: "I can't say that I am at my best yet, I am still dealing with the thigh injury that has affected my season so far."
He continued: "The situation is gradually improving, and what I am doing with the club's physiotherapists is helping me return properly; it's all a matter of not overtraining too quickly."
He added: "Literally, it's just step by step, day by day. I hope the situation improves more and more. I scored the goal in my first start at Stamford Bridge in about four months, and that is a great feeling for me, but the most important thing is regaining my full fitness."
Regarding the presence of England national team coach Thomas Tuchel watching the match, Palmer said: "Honestly, I wasn't thinking too far ahead. I've been injured for three months and just need to get back to full fitness. I know what I can offer when I am at full fitness, and I hope to reach that soon."
