Cucurella Desires to Join Barcelona

The Spanish player Marc Cucurella, Chelsea's defender, places Barcelona at the forefront of his options during the summer transfer window, but he understands that completing the deal depends on Alejandro Balde's future within the Catalan club.

The Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' reported that Cucurella informed Chelsea of his desire to leave this summer, despite his contract extending until 2029, while the English club values the player between 40 and 50 million euros.

The Spanish defender has attracted interest from several European clubs, most notably Manchester City, Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, and Real Madrid, yet he prefers to return to Barcelona and is highly valued by coach Hans Flick.

The deal remains contingent on the departure of Alejandro Balde, who is under contract with Barcelona until 2028, although he is not currently considering leaving the club after a season that saw his main role diminish in favor of Joao Cancelo.

According to the same source, Cucurella is currently focusing on his participation in the World Cup and prefers to decide his future after the tournament, with his readiness to wait for Barcelona if the club shows a clear desire to sign him.
