Jalal Hassan Chases Readiness Before the Jordan Match
Monday 15-12-2025
Jalal Hassan, goalkeeper of the Iraqi national team, continued to intensify his efforts to catch up for the match against Jordan in the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup Qatar 2025, as he seeks to participate for the first time since the start of the tournament.

The Iraqi national team will face its Jordanian counterpart in the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup at the Education City Stadium tomorrow, Friday, at 5:30 PM Doha time.

A source said: "Jalal Hassan is making exceptional efforts in the Iraqi national team trainings, fighting to participate as a starter in the Jordan match and make his first appearance in this tournament, after being absent throughout the past period due to back pain caused by a wrong movement outside football training."

He added: "The Iraqi goalkeeper wants to attract the attention of coach Graham Arnold and regain his confidence to be one of the prominent options in the match, especially since he is the team captain and feels he must be present in this tough confrontation against Jordan, which is considered one of the teams favored to win the title, especially after achieving a perfect record in the group stage."

He explained: "Graham Arnold is seriously considering involving Jalal Hassan in the match due to his status in the team and his leadership spirit. He is the most trusted goalkeeper by the coach, and despite the brilliance of the substitute Ahmed Basil in the Arab Cup, Arnold gives Hassan the priority in the goalkeeper position even in friendly matches."

The source continued: "One of the most important points Arnold wants to benefit from with Jalal's presence is his great harmony with the two central defenders, Moayad Jabbar and Akam Hashim, due to their constant playing together with Al-Zawraa club, which the coach will take into account. This enhances Hassan's chances of starting the match against Jordan, which Arnold sees as the toughest in the tournament."
