Sunday 07-12-2025
The Algerian reserve team revived its hopes of qualifying for the quarterfinals of the Arab Cup after a big win over Bahrain with five goals to one, in the match held on Saturday evening at Khalifa International Stadium in Doha.

The reserve team achieved its first victory in the tournament after a goalless draw against Sudan in the opening round, confirming its desire to retain the Arab title it won in the 2021 edition.

Radouane Berkan stood out as one of the match's brightest stars, making a difference with his remarkable performance and scoring two goals. Berkan opened the scoring in the 24th minute before Bahrain equalized just three minutes later. However, player Boulbina restored the national team's lead in the 30th minute, benefiting from a precise pass by Berkan.

Before the end of the first half, the Algerian team earned a penalty in the 45+3rd minute, which Yacine Benzia successfully converted to score the third goal.

In the second half, the reserve team continued its dominance, with Berkan adding a fourth goal, and Boulbina sealing the goal fest with a fifth in the 80th minute, securing a comprehensive victory that reflects the national team's determination to defend its title.

With this result, the team temporarily topped Group D with four points, one point ahead of Iraq, who will later face third-placed Sudan, while Bahrain remained without points at the bottom of the standings.
