Yemen ends Gulf Cup 27 campaign with a resounding win over Bahrain
Yemen surprised Bahrain with a resounding 5-2 victory during the third and final round of the group stage of the Semi-Final, in a match held at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah.
Bahrain took an early lead with a goal from Ali Al-Dosari in the 6th minute, but Yemen quickly responded, with Nasser Mohammedoh equalizing in the 18th minute before Abdul-Wasi' Al-Matari added a second.
Yemen continued their resurgence with Rami Al-Wasmani scoring the third goal in the 40th minute, before Ali Abbas added the fourth goal in the 44th minute, ending the first half with a four-goal lead against one.
Both teams continued their efforts during the second half, before Rami Al-Wasmani returned to score Yemen's fifth goal deep into stoppage time, confirming the big win with five goals to two.
Yemen has increased its tally to 3 points and finished third in the group, while Bahrain remains without points in fourth place. The United Arab Emirates and Qatar have qualified for the Semi-Final from Group B.
