Paris Saint-Germain Opens the Door for Lucas Beraldo's Departure

Paris Saint-Germain has opened the door for the departure of Brazilian defender Lucas Beraldo in the winter transfer window, according to a report released today, Friday, by the website "Foot Mercato."

The website reported that Beraldo, who joined Paris Saint-Germain in the winter of 2024, has won numerous titles with the team, including two French league titles, two French Cups, the Champions League, and the European Super Cup. However, he does not have unanimous support within the club due to his inconsistent defensive performance recently, despite Luis Enrique's appreciation of his quality in build-up play and ball progression.

Foot Mercato explained that the player has played nearly 70 matches for the club and scored 4 goals, but his recent performances have been inconsistent. He appeared nervous in the 3-3 draw against Strasbourg and struggled against Le Havre's attack, which has made his future a topic of discussion within the Parisian management, despite his denial of transfer rumors.

The report mentioned that Berraldo, who is under contract until 2028, is no longer an untouchable player, especially since he has participated in only 8 league matches this season and has been completely absent from the Champions League. This has led Luis Campos to consider selling him to capitalize on his market value, estimated at 25 million euros, to support the winter transfer budget.

The same source added that the Brazilian press mentioned interest from Flamengo and Palmeiras, but the 22-year-old player prefers to stay in Europe, especially with the 2026 World Cup approaching and his need to play at the highest level. Berraldo will miss the match against Rennes this week due to leg pain, but he remains one of the names likely to trigger activity in the Paris club’s winter transfer window.
