Dr. Ayman Zein, the doctor of the Egyptian national team participating in the 2025 Arab Cup, revealed details about the injury sustained by Karim Fouad, the right-back of Al Ahly Club and the national team, during the Pharaohs' training session yesterday, Wednesday. The player suffered a severe knee contusion that required immediate medical intervention before being transferred for thorough examinations.

The Football Association explained that Karim Fouad underwent examinations and X-rays this morning, Thursday, at the "Aspetar" Hospital in Qatar, accompanied by the national team's doctor, to check on his condition after experiencing severe pain in his knee area following training.

The X-ray results revealed that the player has a sprain in the medial ligament of the right knee, in addition to another sprain in a section of the cruciate ligament, according to Dr. Ayman Zain.

The national team's doctor confirmed that the condition requires conservative treatment and a rehabilitation program lasting four to six weeks, with continuous monitoring in full coordination with Al Ahly club's medical staff.

Based on the diagnosis, Kareem Fouad has been officially confirmed to be absent from the remaining matches of the Egyptian national team in the Arab Cup, which runs until December 18. As a result, he is no longer considered in the plans of the coaching staff led by Helmy Toulan for the duration of the tournament.
