Flamengo Crowned Brazilian League Champion
Thursday 04-12-2025
Flamengo clinched the 2025 Brazilian League title one round before the end of the competition, after a strong season for the team across various tournaments, led by their coach Filipe Luís.

Flamengo secured the title following a 1-0 victory over Ceará, with Samuel Lino scoring the decisive goal in the 37th minute, granting his team three crucial points that raised their total to 78 points, five points ahead of their closest rival Palmeiras, officially ensuring the championship without needing to wait for the final round.

Over 37 rounds in the league, Flamengo achieved 23 wins, 9 draws, and only 5 losses, delivering one of the team's strongest performances in the tournament. They are the most potent offensively, scoring 75 goals, and the toughest defensively, conceding only 24 goals, combining offensive strength and defensive solidity that paved the way for a well-deserved title.

Flamengo will play their last league match against Mirassol early Sunday, a formality after securing the championship, to complete preparations for upcoming competitions and rotate players.

This title adds to coach Filipe Luís's record as the fifth championship he has won with Flamengo in less than a year and a half, just five days after winning the Copa Libertadores title against Palmeiras, reflecting the coach’s ability to lead the team to both domestic and continental success.

Flamengo has also secured their participation in the Intercontinental Cup hosted by Qatar, where they will begin their campaign facing Mexico's Cruz Azul on December 10.
