Flamengo have renewed defender Danilo's contract until December 2027, as officially announced by the club today, Wednesday. The 35-year-old player signed the new contract at the George Helal training center, in the presence of his sons João and Miguel, continuing his journey with the team for an additional season.
Danilo expressed his happiness at continuing his career with Flamengo, stating that he feels he has fulfilled his duty since joining the club nearly two years ago. He said: "I feel, first of all, that I have done my duty. My goal was to achieve important titles and contribute to enriching Flamengo's history with achievements, and I believe I have succeeded so far in helping the club add more trophies to its record."
Since his debut on February 2, 2025, the defender has played 57 matches for Flamengo, scoring six goals and providing two assists. He played a crucial role in the team's victory in the Copa Libertadores in 2025, scoring the only winning goal with his head against Palmeiras in the final held in the Peruvian capital, Lima. He also won five titles with the team, the most notable being the Libertadores and the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A in 2025.
