Al Hilal Withdraws from Comuzzo Deal After Player's Refusal
Italian agent Federico Pastorello revealed new developments regarding Al Hilal Saudi Club's negotiations to sign Fiorentina defender Pietro Comuzzo, confirming that the blue club has officially withdrawn from the deal.
Al Hilal had attempted to sign the player during the last summer transfer window based on a recommendation from coach Inzaghi.
Pastorello explained, in statements reported by the "Todo Mercato Web" website, that Al Hilal withdrew from the negotiations after it became clear that the player was not interested in considering the Saudi offer from the outset, which prompted the management to halt their steps toward making an official offer.
Assistant coach Inzaghi added that Comuzzo's refusal to move to Al Hilal was clear, which led the club to quickly withdraw from the deal despite their interest in the defender. He confirmed that the player's stance was the decisive factor in completely halting the negotiations.
Pastorello pointed out that Inzaghi will need to strengthen his defense in the upcoming January transfer window, especially with Senegalese player Kalidou Koulibaly preparing to join his national team for the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. This will create a gap in the backline, making the signing of a new defender an urgent necessity.
