Levante Announces Dismissal of Coach After Loss to Atlético Madrid
Just hours after the team's 2-0 loss to host Atlético Madrid in the Spanish league, Levante officially announced today, Sunday, the dismissal of head coach Julián Calero.
This defeat worsened the team's crisis, leaving their points total frozen at 9 in 19th place, second to last in the table, only ahead of Real Oviedo on goal difference.
Calero had started coaching Levante in 2024 and led the team back to the first division. After a good start to the season, things deteriorated significantly afterward.
It is worth noting that 55-year-old Callero has previously managed several lower-division teams in Spain, and this is his first time coaching in La Liga.
