Sports commentator Khaled El Ghandour, former Zamalek star, commented on Al Ahly's intervention in defending their former player Ramadan Sobhi in the doping and institute cases.

Al-Ghandour said on Facebook: "A peak of respect from Captain Mahmoud El Khatib and Al Ahly Club."

Al Ahly Club confirmed in an official statement that, based on its firm principles of supporting its members and standing by them, Captain Mahmoud El Khatib, the club president, has assigned Shady El Barqouqi, Al Ahly’s legal advisor, to join, after coordination, the defense team of player Ramadan Sobhi, as one of the club’s own, within the framework of the current legal procedures.

The statement clarified that Al-Ahly will provide full legal support to the player, alongside the efforts of his personal lawyer. Additionally, Al-Khatib has assigned Dr. Abdullah Shehata, the club's sports legal advisor, to offer legal assistance in the doping case, in cooperation and coordination with Ramadan Sobhi's private legal team.

Ramadan Sobhi is considered one of Al Ahly's own, as he grew up within the youth academy and progressed through its various stages until he was promoted to the first team during the 2014-2015 season.
