Bin Musaed Clarifies the Truth About His Statement on Saud Abdulhamid's Transfer to Roma
Prince Abdullah bin Musaad, the former Saudi Minister of Sports, was keen to clarify the statement that sparked controversy regarding the transfer of player Saud Abdulhamid from Al-Hilal to the Italian club Roma, as part of the deal involving Algerian player Houssem Aouar, who currently plays for Al-Ittihad.
Bin Musaed confirmed, during his interview with Al Arabiya channel, that the circulated statement was not accurate. He clarified that linking Saud Abdulhamid's transfer to the Houssam Aouar deal was incorrect and that the matter was due to a mix-up with the names.
Bin Musaed said: "Saud Abdulhamid moved to Rome as part of a deal for another player, not Houssem Aouar as has been circulated."
Before adding: "I made a mistake in mentioning the player's name. There was another player from the same club who transferred to the Saudi league, and because both of them played for Roma, the confusion occurred."
With this correction, bin Musaed put an end to the controversy that had arisen in the past few hours, confirming that the statement was nothing more than a mistake in mentioning the name.
