Shobier: Ramadan Sobhi is in a Great Ordeal and Must Be Sympathized With
Sports journalist Ahmed Shobier confirmed that Ramadan Sobhi, the star of Pyramids FC, is currently in a serious predicament as he faces the risk of imprisonment and suspension.
Ahmed Shobeir said on the program "Ma'a Shobeir" on "On Sport FM" radio: "Ramadan Sobhi is going through a serious ordeal, and currently he has two major issues. The first is the fraud case, for which he is detained until December 30th, when the verdict will be announced. We hope everything will turn out well. We can't comment on the judiciary, but we can pray that God makes things easier for him."
Shobeir added: "The second issue is the most important after the harsh decision to suspend Ramadan Sobhi for four years due to doping. The matter began with a sudden doping test, where a sample was taken from Ramadan Sobhi. It was said that the sample was contaminated with water, making it non-human and tampered with. Consequently, the Egyptian Anti-Doping Organization, called 'NADO,' suspended Ramadan Sobhi. Then there was an appeal, leading to a hearing committee that met on July 17. The organization, represented by its head, brought in people to listen to the case. After the hearing, the suspension on Ramadan Sobhi was lifted, and no penalty was imposed on him."
He continued: "I asked Dr. Hazem Khamis, and he told me that what happened is even more serious. The global organization 'Al-Wad' will appeal the decision before the sports court, questioning why you stopped it and lifted the suspension. It is possible that Ramadan Sobhi could be suspended for 4 years. This was said at the time, and yesterday everyone was surprised by the decision to suspend Ramadan Sobhi for 4 years, amid a wave of sympathy for the player because there is no room for gloating."
He explained: "After the sports court's decision to suspend Ramadan Sobhi for 4 years, Hani Zahran, Ramadan Sobhi's lawyer, said that we are preparing to appeal the court's decision. So, can Ramadan Sobhi play until the court issues its ruling? Of course not. However, Hani Zahran said he is very optimistic about the ruling that will be issued regarding Ramadan Sobhi. There are only two possible outcomes for the decision—no others: either the penalty will be canceled or reduced."
