Al-Nassr Achieves a Rare Record with Their Big Win over Istiklol
Al-Nassr Saudi Club demonstrated its strength in the AFC Champions League by securing a commanding 4-0 victory over Tajikistan's Istiklol Dushanbe in the fifth round.
The Saudi newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah" reported that Al-Nassr achieved, for the first time in its history, five consecutive victories in the Asian Championship, having previously won four consecutive matches in past editions.
The goals for Al-Nassr were scored by the Portuguese João Félix from a penalty kick in the 12th minute, the French Mohamed Simakan in the 40th minute, and the Senegalese Sadio Mané in the 83rd minute, before Ayman Yahya sealed the fourth goal in the 92nd minute.
With this victory, Al-Nassr raised their total to 15 points, leading Group D, while Tajikistan's Istiklol Dushanbe remained in third place with 6 points, losing their chances of qualifying.
Al-Nassr participates in Group D alongside Iraqi club Al-Zawraa, Indian club Goa, and Tajik club Istiklol Dushanbe, reflecting a balanced level of competition on the continental stage.
The Saudi team is preparing to face Iraq's Al-Zawraa in the final round of the group stage, scheduled to take place in Riyadh on December 24, as they aim to maintain their top position in the group before the knockout stages begin.
