Former Zamalek Star Criticizes Hossam Hassan
Mahmoud Fathallah Negm, former player of Zamalek Club, criticized Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, for his statements following the Al Ain International Friendly Tournament.
Hossam Hassan said in angry statements: "I have contributed to Egyptian football and I do not receive a high salary like Mikali, who has not provided any players to the national team."
Mahmoud Fathallah said on the "MBC Masr 2" channel: "Captain Hossam Hassan, I like him very much on a personal level because he has shown great humanitarian gestures towards me. But if we speak objectively, he has made things very difficult for himself, and there was really no need for that."
He added: "Hossam Hassan's statements are the worst ever made by a head coach of the Egyptian national team in history, both in content and timing. I believe if he could turn back time, he wouldn't make those statements."
He continued: "There is nothing to make her tense, because he says that the political leadership is the one who brought me here, and that makes him feel reassured. Hani Abu Rida, the president of the federation, also confirmed that Hossam Hassan is staying and there is no talk of his departure. Therefore, there is no tension in the matter."
He concluded: "Hossam Hassan now needs to put in 200% more effort than he did before, and that's to win back the streets and the Egyptian audience again."
