Official: Wolverhampton Announces the Appointment of Rob Edwards as Head Coach
Wolverhampton Wanderers announced on their official website the appointment of Rob Edwards as the new head coach of the first team, after he signed a contract for three and a half years, marking the beginning of his fourth term with the club.
Edwards is a native of Wolverhampton, having previously represented the team as a player between 2004 and 2008. He played in 111 matches as a center-back and has held several coaching positions within the club, most notably leading the under-18 and under-23 youth teams.
The coach has achieved notable successes in his coaching career, most prominently leading Forest Green Rovers and Luton Town to promotion to the Premier League, along with a strong start this season with Middlesbrough, which is currently in second place in the Championship.
Joining the coaching staff with Edwards will be assistant coach Harry Watling, who recently worked with him at Middlesbrough, and the rest of the coaching team will be announced soon.
