Slot: We Created More Opportunities Than the Last Match, Advancing to the Quarterfinals is an Important Step
Saturday 07-03-2026
Dutchman Arne Slot, the head coach of Liverpool, spoke about his team's victory over Wolverhampton by three goals to one, in the match that took place at Molineux Stadium as part of the FA Cup Round of 16.

Slot said: "We possessed the ball a lot during the match, and they only created one chance and scored from it, which is similar to what happened three days ago."

He continued: "We created more opportunities than we did in the last match, and that's the reason we won today."

He added: "As for Andy Robertson, all players want to participate in every match, but that's not possible. He did his duty perfectly today and delivered a great match."

Regarding conceding goals, Slot said: "Things were almost as they were three days ago, except we scored more goals this time. It's frustrating to see that we didn't give them many chances, yet we conceded a goal."

About the young player Ryo Ngomouha, he explained: "It's special when you're 17 years old and can make an impact against two Premier League teams in two matches, it shows the quality of this player."

He emphasized: "But it depends on him to consistently deliver this level, and this performance should give him a lot of confidence, especially when playing away."

Slot also spoke about Mohamed Salah, saying: "It's always important to see forwards scoring goals because when they don't score for a long time, they might try to impose their style or do different things. That's why it's important for our forwards to either score or contribute to creating goals."

Slot concluded his remarks by saying: "I feel different every three days. Three days ago, the feeling was completely different from what it is now. Advancing to the FA Cup quarterfinals is good, but in three or four days, we have another important match in Istanbul against Galatasaray."
