Paris Saint-Germain Pays the Price for Its Historic Season
Sunday 09-11-2025
The busy match schedule has not been merciful to Paris Saint-Germain, causing significant fatigue for the team, which will enter the final phase of 2025 suffering from a wide wave of injuries, confirming that the Parisian club is paying the price for the lack of a sufficient preparation period before the season.

According to the Spanish newspaper "AS," the latest injured players are Ousmane Dembélé, Achraf Hakimi, and Nuno Mendes, who have joined the list of absentees alongside Dziery Dowe, all of whom are key figures in the current European champion's lineup.

Since the beginning of the year, Paris Saint-Germain has played 58 matches across various competitions, a record number in the club's history, especially after participating in the Club World Cup and reaching the final, which they lost 3-0 to Chelsea.

With players getting only two weeks of vacation last summer, coach Luis Enrique was forced to start the season directly with the European Super Cup match against Tottenham without the possibility of giving his players the necessary rest.

Although Enrique tried during the first months to rotate players continuously to avoid injuries, this did not succeed, as the team has suffered since August from the effects of the congested schedule, with several other names like Fabian Ruiz, João Neves, and Marquinhos also facing injuries, which forced the Spanish coach to rely repeatedly on academy players to continue competing in the league and the Champions League.

In Ligue 1, Paris has not performed as expected, unlike in the Champions League where they collected 9 points out of 9 in the first three matches, before losing 2-1 to Bayern Munich. This match between the two best teams in Europe had significant consequences, as Hakimi left in tears after a strong challenge from Luis Díaz, while Dembélé left the match injured in the middle of the first half.

Hakimi's injury was confirmed as a sprain in his left knee, and he will be out for 6 to 8 weeks, while Dembélé is not expected to return to the pitch until at least the beginning of December.
