Amorim: We Deserved to Win, and We Are Still at the Beginning to Become Strong
Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim appeared in a press statement after the 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in the 11th round of the Premier League.
The coach said, "During the match, we felt that we could come back with the three points. But then, with everything that happened, the exit of Harry Maguire and Casemiro, and conceding two goals... then we scored again and got a point."
He added, "When you can't win, don't lose, and we did that again. We have a lot to grow as a team because today should have been our day to win this match."
He emphasized, "We need to look at ourselves; we weren't pushing as hard. We felt comfortable, but we must understand that if we had been braver, we could have finished the match. However, sometimes that happens; you have a better first half than the second. We believe in our ability to score until the last minute."
Regarding the goalkeeper, Sin Lameens: "He is performing very well. He understands that a lot can happen during a match, but as a goalkeeper, you always have to move forward. It's like starting a new game every time the ball is in play."
Regarding Cisco's injury: "We have to wait and see. We believe he has a problem, but let's see what happens."
He concluded: "There is some frustration, but also pride in the players' reaction after Tottenham's second goal. This is just the beginning; it's the tip of the iceberg. We are still at the start of becoming a strong team, and there is still a lot of work ahead of us."
