Enrique: Nice is having a great period and we must respond at home
Luis Enrique, the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, discussed his team's preparations for the upcoming match against Nice, scheduled for Saturday in the French league, confirming that the match will be against a competitor in a remarkable period.
Regarding the title race, Enrique said: "The team that will win the French league will be the one most consistent in performance, not just during the first ten matches, but throughout the entire season. We can improve our level, but we are currently at the top of the standings, and we must not forget that."
On the injury of player Désiré Doué, the Spanish coach explained: "We take care of our players' health every day, but injuries are part of football. It is unfortunate that he is absent because we always want all players available."
Enrique talked about giving some players rest periods, indicating that he is open to that: "I am open to such matters. My goal is to improve the individual performance of each player, and if someone needs a rest, there is no problem. Players can talk to me or the coaching staff, and we will decide based on each case. I like to see them training with a smile and a desire to play."
The PSG coach added: "Nice has beaten us in the last two matches at the Parc des Princes, which gives us extra motivation. It will be a tough match because Nice is in excellent condition and has high quality, but we will fight to achieve victory."
Enrique praised the current Nice coach, saying: "It is difficult to play against him. I hope I can motivate the players tomorrow because they know the difficulty of the match, and we will strive to win the three points, as it is the best way to prepare for our match in the Champions League."
Enrique concluded his statements by discussing the improvement in the team's defensive performance, saying: "We have improved a lot defensively and continue to work on that. We will evaluate things at the end of the season, but I am now more satisfied with our defensive approach compared to last season."
