Reports from 'Football Italy' revealed that AS Roma striker Ivan Ferguson will be sidelined for at least two weeks after suffering an injury to his right ankle during his team's match against Parma in Serie A.

The 21-year-old Irish player had returned to the starting lineup hoping to make an impact in the match held at the Olimpico Stadium, but he was forced to leave the pitch after just seven minutes following a strong collision with an opposing player.

The site clarified that medical examinations confirmed Ferguson sustained a sprained right ankle with ligament stretching, which will keep him from participating in the upcoming matches for the Italian capital team.

This absence is another setback for Ferguson, who is playing for Roma on loan from Brighton with an option to buy. Despite his impressive performance in the preparatory period, scoring several goals, he has yet to score an official goal, contributing one assist in ten matches across Serie A and the UEFA Europa League.
