José Ribeiro Rejects Offer from CR Belouizdad to Coach the Team
Wednesday 29-10-2025
Reports have revealed that Spanish coach José Ribeiro has declined an official offer from Algerian club CR Belouizdad to take over the team's technical leadership in the upcoming period.

According to media personality Micky Jnr via his official account on the platform 'X', the management of the 'Black Eagle' considered Ribeiro as their first choice for their new sports project. However, the Spanish coach, who previously supervised South Africa's Orlando Pirates and Egypt's Al Ahly, rejected the offer, preferring to take a break before returning to work.

The same sources indicated that CR Belouizdad's management made an enticing offer that included granting him extensive technical powers in contracts, along with a record salary that would have made him the highest-paid coach in the Algerian league. However, Ribeiro declined, stating that he is not currently ready to return to coaching.

The source pointed out that the Spanish coach informed the Algerian club's management that he needs a period of rest after the challenging experience he had with Al Ahly, which ended with his sudden dismissal despite a good start with the team. He prefers to reflect and review his experience before embarking on a new challenge.

It is worth noting that Ribeiro has built a good reputation in Africa during his time with Orlando Pirates, where he received widespread praise for his balanced tactical style and success in leading the team to local championships, before moving to Al Ahly in a short-lived experience that faced significant public pressure.

Despite rejecting the current offer, sources within the club confirmed that CR Belouizdad's management has not completely closed the door on the possibility of returning to negotiate with Ribeiro in the future, as they see him as the right personality to lead the team's project and bring it back to the local and continental forefront.
