Ribucho, the Gulf Star, Reveals His Plans After Retirement

The Portuguese Pedro Ribucho, star of the Saudi Gulf team, clarified that his team's goal in the King Salman Cup is not limited to reaching the quarter-finals but extends to achieving a historic accomplishment in the tournament and competing until the final stages.

Ribucho confirmed in a special interview with "Asharq Al-Awsat" newspaper after Gulf's qualification at the expense of Al-Taawun through penalties, that the team delivered one of its strongest performances this season, noting that the victory was the result of collective effort and a strong desire to continue the journey towards the title.

The player added that the match against Al-Taawun was not easy at all, given the strength of the opponent and their technical stability, explaining that both teams presented a balanced performance reflecting the significant development in the technical level of the Roshen Saudi League clubs.

In another part of his talk, Ribucho revealed his passion for the world of cinematic directing, confirming that he is currently involved in working on a documentary film project being shot to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Gulf Club's founding.

The Portuguese star said: "I love the field of directing and editing a lot, and I am seriously considering pursuing a career in this field after my football career ends, as it gives me a new space for expression and creativity."

Ribucho is in his third season with the Gulf Club, having joined in 2023, where he renewed his contract last summer until 2027, making him one of the most stable players in the team and an example of commitment and professionalism both on and off the field.
