Gomez urges Al Khaleej players to repeat Al Fateh comeback against Al Ahly

Gomez confirmed during the press conference on Tuesday that his team must maintain the determination that led them to turn a two-goal deficit against Al Fateh into an exciting 3-2 victory.

The Portuguese coach warned of the difficulty of the upcoming match, highlighting that Al Ahly FC has a distinguished group of players with high technical abilities and enjoys a prominent historical status in Saudi football.

Gomez emphasized that Al Khaleej's goal is not limited to providing a level that satisfies the fans, clarifying that his team enters every round with the ambition of collecting three points, despite the difficulty of the challenges ahead.

Regarding the absences, Al Khaleej's coach clarified that both teams are suffering from a shortage in their squads, emphasizing that overcoming Al Ahly FC requires defensive solidity and a smart exploitation of attacking opportunities.

Gomez praised the development of the Saudi Pro League over the past ten years, considering that the competition and technical quality have reached a level that surpasses several European leagues.

In discussing the physical differences, Gomez attributes the lower running rates of players in the Saudi Pro League compared to their counterparts in the Premier League to the high temperatures during most of the season.

José Gomes, the Portuguese coach of Al Khaleej, has urged his players to summon the spirit of comeback against Al Fateh, ahead of their match against Al Ahly FC on Thursday in the 11th round of the Saudi Pro League.
