De Bruyne Prepares for Surgery and This is His Absence Duration
Football Italia reported that Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne, a player for Napoli, will undergo surgery tomorrow, Wednesday, in Antwerp, Belgium, after suffering a severe thigh muscle tear during his team's match against Inter Milan in the Italian league last Saturday.
According to the same source, the surgery will take place on October 29, and the player's absence from the field is expected to last from three to four months, allowing him to return to play again in February 2026.
The report noted that De Bruyne, the former star of Manchester City, has already arrived in Belgium in preparation for the surgery, which is the same injury he suffered in 2023 that caused him to miss five months of play at that time, leading to his absence from 28 matches with his club and one match with the Belgium national team.
The report added that this is the second surgery De Bruyne has undergone in two years, while his teammate and fellow countryman Romelu Lukaku, who sustained a similar injury last August, opted for conservative treatment without surgery.
