Napoli Prepares for New Attempt to Sign Kobbie Mainoo
Wednesday 29-10-2025
The Italian club Napoli, the reigning league champion, is preparing to renew its efforts to sign Kobbie Mainoo, a player from Manchester United, during the upcoming winter transfer window in January 2026, according to what was revealed by the Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport".

The newspaper mentioned that Napoli attempted to sign the 20-year-old player last summer, but was unsuccessful in completing the deal. However, the Italian club intends to make another attempt, taking advantage of Mainoo's limited participation with his team this season.

The report added that Mainoo has not received enough opportunities under coach Ruben Amorim, having played only 228 minutes since the start of the season, which opens the door for Napoli to try to persuade him to move to Serie A.

It is worth noting that Kobbie Mainoo, the English midfielder of Ghanaian descent, grew up in Manchester United's academy and made his first-team debut in 2023, while his current contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027, with an option to extend for an additional season by mutual agreement.
