The Italian club Napoli announced that Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne underwent successful surgery after suffering a severe injury to his thigh muscle during the team's match against Inter Milan in the Italian league last Saturday.

The club stated in an official announcement released today, Wednesday: "As planned, De Bruyne underwent surgery today in Antwerp after sustaining a severe tear in his right thigh muscle."

The statement added that the operation was completely successful, noting that the player will continue the first phase of the rehabilitation program in Belgium, under the supervision of the head of the Italian medical staff, Dr. Raffaele Canonico.

According to Italian media reports, De Bruyne will be sidelined for a period ranging from 3 to 4 months, which is a significant blow for Napoli, who relies on the Belgian's experience in midfield.
