Konia's First Victory with Manchester United
Manchester United coach Matheus Konia appeared in a press statement after the 4-2 victory over Brighton in the ninth round of the Premier League.
The player said: "It is difficult to express my opinion right now. I have put in a lot of effort for this. This is the club, and this performance should be normal and natural. I feel overwhelmed with joy to be a part of this. I have dreamed a lot about my first goal here at Old Trafford, but winning is of course much more important."
About his first goal with the Red Devils: "It is hard to express my feelings; I joked with Bryan [Mbeumo] and [Benjamin] Sesko, telling them that I needed this feeling [of scoring], and I felt very excited to be part of this, and when I scored, they said: 'Look, you can enjoy now.' My teammates supported me all day; I feel overwhelmed with joy to be a part of this."
On his relationship with the fans: "I am one of them. This is the club I grew up following, and being here is a mix of emotions. Helping them is my dream come true."
He continued about Brighton's comeback to 3-2: "We need to be calmer next time. We know Brighton's level; they always play tough matches, and of course, they have the ability to come back, but I believe in the end, winning is part of the game, and the most important thing in the end is winning."
He concluded about building momentum: "I think we have reached this stage now. We need to feel that this is normal. This is a club that needs to be in such positions, and I hope we continue in this way to finish the season in the position we aspire to."
