Zirkzee's Stance on Leaving Manchester United
The British newspaper "The Mirror" confirmed that Dutch player Joshua Zirkzee intends to request a departure from Manchester United in the winter transfer market next January, after realizing that he no longer has a future with the team.
This step comes as part of Zirkzee's eagerness to maintain his chances of joining the Netherlands national team for the World Cup next summer.
Zirkzee joined Manchester United from Bologna for £36 million during the tenure of former coach Erik ten Hag, but he has failed to make a significant impact with the team, appearing to be far from the required scoring level, having scored only seven goals in 49 matches last season, and participating in only four matches this season, with his last league goal coming in December.
The newspaper noted that the current team coach, Ruben Amorim, has decided that Zirkzee is not part of his long-term plans, especially after the team signed Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Sesko, which has led to a decline in his standing in the team's hierarchy. The club is expected to listen to offers for the player during the winter transfer market.
Zirkzee is also considering the option of a loan move until the end of the season with the possibility of turning the deal into a permanent transfer, especially after being warned by Netherlands national team coach Ronald Koeman that he needs to participate regularly in matches to be eligible for selection for the national team in the upcoming summer tournament.
Zirkzee prefers to stay in the Premier League but is willing to move to any other European club if it allows him to leave Manchester United and regain his form.
