Enrique: We Aim to Win Everything Again This Season
The head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, Luis Enrique, confirmed that his team is still looking to win all titles this season, pointing out that the significant victory over Bayer Leverkusen was a result of teamwork and the growing confidence among the players.
Luis Enrique said: "Playing away is always difficult, regardless of the opponent; Bayer Leverkusen is a strong team and is starting a new project. It's not the right time to talk about just one player, but Vitinha is amazing; he always controls the pace of the game and knows what we need to do. He is a fantastic player."
He added: "Many criticized me when I put him in the number 6 position, but he can play in any position on the field. However, today we need to talk about the whole team because they delivered a wonderful performance that was attractive to the fans, and we must continue in this manner."
The Spanish coach continued: "It's hard to find a team that aims to win everything, but we are trying again this season. We have great confidence gained from last season, and our goal is real and clear. The task will be difficult because there are four or five teams at the same level, but we have the ambition and desire to continue working in this approach."
Enrique continued discussing the match events, saying: "The three goals we scored at the end of the first half were the key to victory. Last season, the Champions League matches were extremely tough from the start, and it was a great story. This year we have the confidence and know we can face any opponent; these matches are always difficult to manage, and the start of the season was strange and tough for us, but we have overcome that phase."
The head coach of Paris Saint-Germain concluded his statements by saying: "We have won the first three matches in the Champions League deservedly and rightfully. We must continue to work with the same seriousness and ambition. We are happy and proud of this group and what they are delivering in terms of performance."
