Youssef Belaïli Returns to Training with Esperance After Recovering from Injury
Algerian international Youssef Belaïli marked his return to the collective training of the Tunisian club Esperance Sportive de Tunis this morning, Monday, after fully recovering from the muscle injury he sustained during his last participation with the Algerian national team.
Belaïli had injured himself on October 9 during his participation as a substitute in the match against Somalia, as part of the ninth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which led national coach Vladimir Petkovic to release him from the training camp along with striker Baghdad Bounedjah, before the final match against Uganda.
The injury forced the Algerian player to miss the first leg of the second preliminary round of the African Champions League, in which Esperance won against their Burkinabe host Rahimo by a goal to nil.
However, Belaïli's return to the team's atmosphere this week has given a significant morale boost to the fans of "Bab Souika", as he is expected to be included in the coach's list for the anticipated return match next Friday in Tunisia, to secure qualification to the next round of the continental competition.
