Officially: Esperance Announces the Dismissal of Coach Patrice Beaumelle

Tuesday 12-05-2026
The management of Esperance Sportive de Tunis announced the termination of the duties of French coach Patrice Beaumelle following the team's loss in the derby against Club Africain and the official loss of the Tunisian league title.

The decision to dismiss came after a short period Beaumelle spent at the helm of the technical staff, as he took over at the end of last February under difficult circumstances, with the aim of bringing the team back to victory both locally and continentally.

In just over two months, the French coach led the team in 15 matches, achieving 6 victories, 6 draws, and 3 defeats.

Despite the positive signs at the start of his tenure, the decline in results since the end of March, along with offensive struggles and continental exit, intensified the criticism directed at the technical staff. The defeat in the derby against Club Africain was the decisive blow that hastened his departure.

Esperance's management decided to temporarily assign the task to French coach Christian Bracconi, who was serving as the assistant coach, until the end of the season, hoping to restore stability to the team and achieve the best possible finish in the remaining rounds.
