The official website of Everton FC announced the renewal of the contract of international goalkeeper Jordan Pickford for an additional four years, extending his stay with the team until June 2029, continuing his long journey with the club that began in 2017.
Pickford, who is 31 years old, is considered one of the team's standout players over the past years, having participated in 326 matches since his transfer from Sunderland to Everton in a record deal for a British goalkeeper at the time.
He has also played 80 international matches with the England national team during his time with the Toffees, achieving a record of keeping a clean sheet in nine consecutive matches with the Three Lions.
Pickford stated in his remarks: "I am extremely happy to renew my contract until 2029, it feels great to continue my journey here and contribute to building the future of this special club. Everton has been my home for the past years, and I look forward to achieving more successes with them."
The English goalkeeper added: "The club has helped me a lot in developing as a player and a person, and I feel that I am part of this great project. Our goal now is to restore Everton's status and compete for European competitions again."
It is worth noting that Pickford has won the Player of the Season award at Everton four times, making him the most awarded player in the club's history. He also won two awards in his first season: Player of the Year from his teammates and Young Player of the Year.
